Do you ever "catch yourself" tapping your foot to music?

Do you have more endurance when exercising to music?

Did you learn your alphabet with the ABC Song?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above, you have experienced the amazing impact music has on our brains, both consciously and subconsciously.  It is common knowledge that music makes us "feel good."  But neuroscience research has discovered that music, specifically rhythm, actually changes the way our brains work.  Rhythm organizes our brain affecting the way we move, speak and learn.  This has astounding implications for using music as a therapeutic tool to address sensorimotor, speech & language, and cognitive goals for individuals with neurological or developmental disabilities.  Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) utilizes standardized treatment techniques based on scientific research.  Because multiple rehabilitative, sensory and relational goals can be addressed simultaneously, NMT is a time- and cost-effective means of treatment and an invaluable tool in rehabilitation.

Trust . . .

Trust is the most important variable in choosing a provider for your child.  We take that responsibility seriously.  With over 20 years of experience, the director of Rhythm & Rehab is one of nine Neurologic Music Therapists in North Carolina and the only NMT in NC with advanced fellowship status with the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy.

Belief . . .

Every individual is created with unique strengths and talents.  We are defined by God-given uniqueness, not by man-given labels.  We are defined by abilities, not by disabilities.
